Paltrow is monetizing her history without losing her brand, proving style is an investment.
Hollywood insiders are buzzing about Gwyneth Paltrow’s decision to part with a massive chunk of her personal archive. The actress has partnered with Julien’s Auctions to sell more than 500 items from her collection, titled “Bold Luxury: Gwyneth Paltrow Lexicon of Style & The Archival Edit.” The auction is officially set to go live on March 24, 2026, allowing fans to bid on pieces that define her decades in the public eye. A portion of the proceeds from the sale will be donated to World Central Kitchen once the auction closes, adding a charitable component to the high-profile event. Bidders can currently browse the extensive collection, which includes everything from red carpet looks to furniture and signed photographs.
Among the most coveted items in the lot is the pink Ralph & Russo one-shoulder look Paltrow wore to the 2015 Oscars. The collection also features her ombré Versace gown from the 2010 Country Music Awards and a whimsical 2003 color-block minidress from Versace, similar to the one featured in the film “13 Going on 30.” Classic Hermès Birkins and various Goop-branded items are also up for grabs. Notably, while her iconic Ralph Lauren gown from the 1999 Academy Awards remains in her personal archive, she is selling the original illustrations from the designer himself, offering a unique glimpse into the design process behind her most memorable moments.
The auction also includes deeply personal relics from her past family history. Lot #84 is a Jennifer Meyer pendant necklace bearing the initials A, C, and M, representing her consciously uncoupled family of Apple, Chris, and Moses Martin. Fans can even bid on vintage Coldplay merch, including a pair of earmuffs and promotional photographs of Chris Martin. Paltrow’s daughter, Apple, recently told Vogue that her mother’s wardrobe from her twenties is “just about my favorite thing in the entire world,” noting she spent last winter break dabbling in trying everything on.
Paltrow explained her decision to Vogue, noting that the sale was spurred by a storage unit fire and the sale of her Los Angeles home. She remarked that she “have[s] all this great stuff that doesn’t go anywhere” and wished she could just have a huge garage sale. She emphasized that “things have energy” and expressed that it is nice for items to accrue value through different provenances and owners. This strategic move allows her to clear space while ensuring her style legacy continues to generate value and support a worthy cause.
