Radiohead transforms Coachella into an immersive art gallery — bringing Thom Yorke and Stanley Donwood's visionary KID A MNESIA project to life in a way never before possible, celebrating the seminal albums that defined a generation.
Here's the thing — Radiohead themselves won't be performing at Coachella, which means some fans might show up expecting a surprise set and walk away with just the installation. But for the cult following that's been obsessed with KID A and Amnesiac since 2000, this is basically a religious experience.
The Bunker installation opens Friday, April 10 at Coachella and runs across both weekends. The 17,000 square foot venue features 28-foot ceilings and hosts five screenings daily of the 75-minute film. Following Coachella, the tour hits Brooklyn (May 6-31), Chicago (July 30-Aug. 23), Mexico City (Oct. 27-Nov. 15), and San Francisco (Jan 14-Feb 7, 2027). Presale registration closes April 12 at 11:59 p.m. PT.
Even without a live performance, Radiohead is giving their fans something even more rare — an intimate window into the creative minds behind two of the most influential albums of the 21st century. Don't sleep on this one.
Radiohead is bringing their most ambitious project to Coachella this weekend, and no — they won't be performing. But what they're offering is arguably way cooler than a typical set list.
The legendary British band is debuting their Motion Picture House installation at Coachella's Bunker venue starting Friday (April 10), and it's built specifically to house KID A MNESIA, the audiovisual experience comprised of artwork by frontman Thom Yorke and longtime collaborator Stanley Donwood. The film pulls from the same sessions that produced KID A and Amnesiac — yes, those albums from 2000 that basically invented the whole electronic experimental rock thing and changed music forever.
All Coachella ticket holders can access the 17,000 square foot bunker buried beneath the Empire Polo Fields to watch the 75-minute film. The venue features absolutely massive 28-foot-high ceilings and is packed with full-scale artwork created by Yorke and Donwood during that iconic era. The Bunker will host five screenings daily with air conditioning — because watching art in 100-degree desert heat would honestly ruin the vibe.
After Coachella wraps its two weekends, the installation hits the road for a proper North American tour. Fans in Brooklyn can catch it at the Agger Fish Building from May 6 through May 31, followed by Chicago's Cinespace Studio (July 30-August 23), Mexico City's La Maravilla Studios (October 27-November 15), and San Francisco's Palace of Fine Arts starting January 14, 2027. That's a whole year of KID A MNESIA on the road.
Tickets are available in two-hour slots to accommodate the film runtime plus time to explore the gallery space. Presale registration closes April 12 at 11:59 p.m. PT, with the presale happening April 22 and general sales opening April 24 at 10 a.m. local time.
