Cardi B is finally speaking out about that infamous leaked phone call β and she's not exactly making excuses, but she's definitely handing over context. The "WAP" rapper went off on Latto during a leaked conversation with Ice Spice's manager James Rosemond Jr. last September, just days after Latto hopped on the "ErrTime" remix for Cardi's Am I the Drama? album. In that call, Cardi said she'd "beat the fβk up" of the Atlanta rapper and called her a "pβy." The recording went public, their friendship fractured, and now β eight months later β Cardi is explaining herself on X.
"I let my mouth get the best of me," she wrote in a detailed post addressing the situation directly. "There's a difference in what I said vs what I meant. What I could have said was you was too forgiving and gave too much mercy." Here's where it gets messy: Cardi claims she wasn't even mad at Latto β she was furious at Ice Spice, but somehow Latto caught all the heat.
She also revealed she was eight months pregnant with her fourth child (her first with Stefon Diggs) when the call dropped and had just released Am I the Drama?. "I was extremely overwhelmed and emotional," Cardi admitted. "That's not to excuse what I said but to let you know where I was in my head."
